- Riding my trike off the sidewalk |
- I LOVE burying mommy in aminals. See dat big belly my little
sister is giving her? |
- I also love to drive the truck and the bulldozer on the 'puter |
- We celebrated my birthday (a month late) at the Zoo with a few of my
friends |
- When we were at the Zoo, I got to do the Budgie Buddies again! |
- Grandma and Cousin Layn joined us for Thanksgiving |
- But Daddy had the flu so this is how we spent most of the afternoon |
- On Black Friday the shopping frenzy meant the Zoo was empty so we
got a special tour of the Tiger enclosure. BIG kitty!
(Rigel was scared from the moment we all entered the building) |
| I've also been helping daddy keep an eye on the ski cabin I've
been requesting. It's coming along ok though there's no more big
dirt piles for me to run my truck in. See the "Breck Blog" above
for more details. |
- We arrived on Sunday, Sept 16th, and set up camp. Mommy showed
me how to roast my first marshmallow over a "fire camp." |
- Here's our campsite in Madison. |
- I REALLY liked my new birthday Leap Pad. It kept me occupied
for hours and hours and hours in the car. |
- REALLY, REALLY liked it! |
- Mommy and me at Firehole Falls. |
- Mommy and daddy really stressed staying on the path. There are
these signs with a picture of a little boy that fell in and died.
I was pretty obsessed with the sign and the little boy. We had
to stop and look at the sign every time. (Preston's note:
presumably the
1970 Andrew Hecht case who fell into Crested Pool and sank & died
after swimming a couple strokes.) |
- I liked the mud pots. I didn't really pay much attention to
Geysers until the little one we saw right before leaving... |
- I wanna push the stroller! (and I did so, everywhere...) |
- I also started recognizing letters other than "R" - we had to stop
and read many many signs. |
- I saw Old Faithful! |
- And the Riverside Geyser |
- And even the Grand Geyser (the tallest predictable geyser in the
world) |
- Morning Glory Pool (daddy says that the green part used to be a deep
blue when he was a little boy) |
- I also saw Elk |
- And Bison |
- And even a couple Moose! (but no bears even though there were
reports of a mama Grizzly and 3 cubs across the river from our
campground) |
- We put on some miles but my legs are short so I did some riding. |
- We came and left through Grand Teton. The leaves are all
turning. |
